The Lord Percival Cup, the higher handicapper’s version of the Whitney Cup, took to the court in Philadelphia over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Seven teams came to duke it out to try to end the reign of the mighty Boston Tennis & Racquet Club. Washington put together two teams to up their chances of taking home the title facing off against two teams from Philadelphia and strong teams from Boston, Newport and New York. * US Ladies’ Results

The Racquet Club of Philadelphia was honored to host the 2010 US Women’s Open the weekend of November 5th through 7th. Women from several courts in the United States and a couple from across the pond competed for that title. The weekend was full of hard fought matches and camaraderie.  The ladies from the UK, Claire Vigrass and Aldona Greenwood, came ready to play and showed the Americans how it’s done. ~Greevy Cup Recap

From January 22nd through January 24th, the Greevy Cup was contested for by players with handicaps between 20-29 at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. Three of the four semifinalists are veterans of the game but it was the one newcomer, Jon Crowell, that took home the honors. After outlasting John Madzin 6-Love in the 3rd set on Saturday afternoon, Crowell met Andrew Purcell in the final match on Sunday morning. Purcell survived a marathon semifinal earlier Sunday morning against Peter Vogt, lasting an amazing 2+ hours.
