What a great weekend of tennis! Both draws were filled in Philly for the Anne Boleyn and U.S. Mixed doubles. The Anne Boleyn was competitive from start to finish. Ruth Kelley from Philadelphia who has been logging in many hours in on the tennis court proved to be the right formula to win against hard hitting Francine Royan. Ruth over took Francine with her classical back wall play 10 games to 5. What a great weekend the Racquet Club of Philadelphia had hosting the 2012 Ladies Invitational! We had women from Washington, Philadelphia, and Aiken S.C. The singles final consisted of a high level of woman`s tennis. Ginny Goodyear from Aiken played Philly`s own Melissa Purcell in a very good match and a very close first set. Although Melissa knows the court and has every type of weapon, Ginny was just a little too quick and served just a little bit tougher than Melissa.
