We had a terrific turnout of about 60 people to root the home team on to

victory.

First up was Rob Whitehouse vs Richard Smith. There is a history of

real hard fought matches between these two opponents creating a game full

of great tension.

The first set was tight with the first game having ten deuces and then exchanging

games till 3 games all. Smith then grabs the next 2 games to go up

5 games to 3. Then momentum switched to Whitehouse, who took the next

seven games playing very solid tennis throughout the second set and winning 6-5, 6-1.

The second match of the night was Steve Virgona vs Bryn Sayers. Virgona at the top of his game right now- currently # 2 , the highest ranking of his career, was just too strong for young Bryn Sayers. Steve got very comfortable midway through the first set and started to zero in on the openings especially the dedans. The final score was 6-3,6-0.

Doubles were played as the last match. Philly guys completely over powered the competition and won 8/0.

Overall the night was a huge success! Steve and Rob would like to thank everyone for their support.
